I’m Julia Rivera, a driven designer based in the Midwest, with a Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences (concentration in UX Design) with a Minor in Media (concentration in Design Research) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
My work focuses on the powerful intersection of UX design, health innovation, and technology, exploring how user experience can proactively improve well-being and communication.
My design approach is anchored in a holistic, human-centered lens, combining technical skills in Figma, HTML, and CSS, with a deep foundation in user research and design strategy gained through roles at Illinois Design Consulting (IDC) and the Siebel Center for Design (SCD).
This technical background is enriched by a decade of creative experience in filmmaking, media production (UI7 News Anchor, UIC Radio), and the performing arts.
This unique combination allows me to bring strong bilingual storytelling (English/Spanish) and visual communication skills to complex design challenges, ensuring the final product is not only functional but truly engaging.
Ultimately, I am passionate about creating simple, beautiful, and meaningful digital solutions.
